Monthly Favorites: August/September

Hi beauties. Finally it’s time for my “monthly” beauty round-up, which I should have posted 10 days ago, I know. As I’m a little late I decided to include some more products than I usually do, and this time my beauty round-up includes skincare, hair and body products as well as makeup.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Créme
This is my new HG moisturizer, I absolutely love the wonders it does for my skin. Hydra Beauty Crème claims it will make normal to dry skin as soft, smooth and velvety as a flower petal, and that’s exactly what it does. This cream is very hydrating and gives my skin a dewy and plumped-up look.

Bioderma Crealine Deo
This is a fresh and calming deodorant that I would highly recommend, especially for those with sensitive skin like me. It’s hypoallergenic, without aluminum salts and alcohol. I really like this deodorant, it’s instantly soothing on my skin and leaves no white traces. I also love the fact that it is very lightly scented.

Burt Bees Radiance Body Lotion
I absolutely love the shimmer in this body lotion, which is perfect for summer. It is just enough shimmer to give a beautiful glow. It absorbs in an instant and is not greasy at all. The consistency of this cream can make it a bit hard to apply sometimes, but you get used to it.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
This has been a staple in my beauty collection for as long as I can remember. The Eight Hour Cream is a multi purpose product – I use it on my lips, cuticles and dry patches. I always bring this product with me wherever I go, love it!

REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Cleanser
I started using this cleanser about 2 months ago and I’ve really enjoyed using it. This is a purifying, antibacterial cleanser formulated to combat and help prevent breakouts and blemishes. It has a thick consistency, and as soon as it goes on the skin you can feel it working into pores and drawing out dirt. My skin feels deeply cleansed and pufied after use as the cleanser gently exfoliates to unclog the skin. Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo
I’ve been using Aussie for many years now and I think this is one of the best drugstore shampoo I have ever tried! It really helps moisture your hair and makes it look soft and healthy. My hair gets easily damaged, especially in periods with a lot of modeling, and this shampoo (and conditioner) really helps to moisture my dry, damaged hair. I definitely think this product can compete with other high-end hair products. An extra bonus is the gorgeous smell.

Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil
Another hair product I love and have been using quite a bit the last month. I’ve tried a lot of different so-called Argan oils (most of them contains a lot of silicone) and this is one of my favorites. I use it after I’ve showered in towel-dry hair and one pump is usually enough. This oil makes my hair feel slightly fuller, as well as it makes it look healthy and shiny.

There are not too many new products added to my makeup collection lately. These are some of the products I’ve used the most the last month and a half, most of them you probably already know. :)

Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish #203
Most of you probably already know how much I love this foundation. I will always be my #1, at least until I found one I like better. Fluid Finish have everything I look for in a foundation. It has a gorgeous lightweight, watery formula that gives a beautiful, healthy finish. It is very gentle on the skin and really smooths everything out without looking fake. I love it! Read my full review here.

Clarins Eclat Minute Natural Lip Perfector #01
I really like this stuff, the product is balmy and not to glossy. It is perfect for everyday and it smells delicious. What I love about this lip product is that it makes my lips looks really glossy but not overdone. It’s also very conditioning which is perfect for school or work.

MAC Hue Lipstick
Another product I love and that you’ve probably seen me raving about before. The MAC Hue lipstick has a beautiful sheer pink color that compliments my pale skin and blonde hair. It’s great for a natural as well as made up look. The lipstick is kind of creamy & medium pigmented.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer
This concealer has great coverage and staying power while giving a natural look. It does a great job covering spots and redness, I also use it under my eyes (after priming) and it never looks cakey. I’ve had mine for almost a year now and there is still at least a third left of the product so it’s well worth the money.

Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Mascara
I bought this mascara in Paris and haven’t written a review about it yet, but what I can so far is that I really like it! The first thing I liked about this mascara was the bristles. They are really dense, which means they grab every lash. This is a volumising mascara that promises to help create as much volume as you want without clumping, and it definitely does what it promise. I paid about 10,50 euros for this mascara, that’s what I call a bargain!

Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder #917 Sable Rose
I’ve been using this product a lot these last months and what I love about it is that it works as a blush and as well as a bronzer. Sable Rose consists of several colors instead of just one single color – you get 7 stripes of colors which makes the product very versatile. This is definitely not a traditional bronzer, the dusty rose shades adds a lovely rosy color to my cheeks. Hope you are having a wonderful day sweethearts! Do you have any experiences with the products listed above? :)

Does the redkin all soft have silicones? Is it better for your hair than Moroccan oil? Thanks!

Aaw, thank you so much Anna! That’s so cool to hear that your grandfather was from Norway! ;) Yes the Redken All Soft has silicone it it (like the Moroccan Oil), I prefer Redken as the product is much lighter and has a lighter color than Moroccan oil. :)

    Hi Hanne!

I really like the Aussie brand for hair, too. Especially the 3-Minute Miracle. However, I have only found this brand in the USA. I live in Switzerland, but I sometimes travel to France. As I know that you have lived in Paris, could you find the Aussie brand there? If it’s sold in France, too, I could snatch one next time I go shopping there. Thanks a lot!

      Hi Gaëlle,

I love the 3-Minute Miracle mask too! I haven’t seen the brand in France either, unfortunately. I always buy it here in Norway.. I did some research and they sell Aussie at, maybe they ship to Switzerland? :) Xx

Thanks a lot for your reply! I checked, but unfortunately Boots does not ship to Switzerland… I’ll have to find another way. I’m not in a hurry: I’ve just come back from the US and I have 2 brand new tubes. If I find any place that ships it internationally in the future, Ill let you know!
