Monday Beauty Tip #4: Avoid Tanning Beds

If you’re turning to a tanning bed thinking it’s a safe alternative to laying out in the sun, think again. Not only will it causes damage to the skin that will eventually lead to wrinkles, but it also increases the risk of skin cancer. People who use tanning beds are 74 percent more likely to develop Melanoma (the most dangerous type of skin cancer) than those who have never tanned indoors.
Also, most tanning beds have mainly UVA rays — which are responsible for aging. They are less likely than UVB to cause sunburn but UVA penetrates the skin more deeply, causing wrinkling and leathering of the skin. Prolonged exposure of UVA cracks and shrinks the collagen and elastin of our skin.

So, why continue abusing your skin with your addiction to tanning beds, when there are great self-tanning lotion options available today? While a tan may be the most attractive accessory in the world, the health issues that come with UV tanning aren’t attractive in any way!

Jeg har aldri forstått de som insisterer på solarium – jeg vil beholde en rynkefri hud så lenge som mulig, hvorfor forskynde det for litt umiddelbar solbrunhet? Veldig godt tips Hanne, som alle burde følge :)
