Old makeup? Trash it!

Us girls gather quite a lot of makeup and beauty products over the years. But cosmetics – both skin care and makeup -aren’t meant to grow old with you – they’ve got to go! Keeping old makeup is unsanitary and even potentially dangerous for your health.

Products are developed to last a year or two. However, contamination can occur at any time, since makeup is always in contact with germ-prone areas like your eyes, mouth and fingers. In general, always toss anything that has changed color or consistency or has a bad odor.

My beauty tip: Store cosmetics in a cool, dry place outside the bathroom to extend their shelf life.

Thank you for setting the record straight. Some people don’t realize that expiration dates due apply to non-perishable items. If you’ve just read this post, take head. There is some good advice here.
