FOTD – Go&see makeup (for Germany)

by Hanne on March 4, 2013

Hey beauties! Hope you are having a lovely Monday. Here in Hamburg the sun is shining and I’m on my way out for today’s go&sees. It’s been a while since my last FOTD post, I’ve just been so busy lately but luckily today I had the time to do one for you. My makeup today is nothing too exciting, just an everyday look that I often do here in Hamburg. In a lot of cities (most probably) around the world they prefer the models to wear as little makeup as possible, but here in Germany they like if you wear a bit of makeup and dress girly when going to go&sees and castings. So, here’s what’s on my face today..

I decided to use a foundation with SPF today as the sun is shining and my Jemma Kidd Light as Air #2 was perfect for that. I used the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20 around my nose and on red areas. I highlighted my cheek bones using the very subtle Chane Lumiere d’Artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder which I’m starting to like more and more. I used the old favorite Benefit Benetint on the apples of my cheeks to add a fresh look and used the Soleil Tan de Chanel in Terre Epice to contour my face a bit.

For my eyes I started off using the Eye Base from Kiko before using the Chanel Les 4 Ombres #38 eyeshadow palette, I used the two colors on the left which is a pale satiny pearly-peach-beige and a sheer warm taupe-bronze shimmer. I used the Sexy Pulp mascara from Yves Rocher which adds great volume as well as separating the lashes. On my eyebrows I used the Catrice Eyebrow Set.

I left my lips quite neutral just using the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector 02 which adds a nice sheer color and feels very nourishing on my lips.

So that’s what’s on my face today. What do you think?

Did you use eyeliner and kohl? Can you recommend an
eyeliner that isn’t too harsh green/blue eyes and nordic girls?
Thanks for a very nice blog.

You look lovely as always :) It’s pretty funny because I had a conversation lately with my German boyfriend, about the fact that German women are usually less made up than the French and I should tone it down when I work there! I find it surprising that you as a model have to make up more here ^^

Thank you! :) hehe that’s funny because in Paris they want the models to wear as little makeup as possible ;)

Scandinavian beauty is definitely all about being natural
and healthy looking! As they say there, less is more! A woman with
a lot of makeup on in Scandinavia is often seen as insecure,
superficial or even cheap (it depends of course). If a woman is
strong and rests in herself and knows what she wants in life, she
doesn’t need a lot of makeup. A study once showed that Scandinavian
guys prefer natural beauty and toned down makeup :) Remember the
delicate and fine features of a Scandinavian woman, the light skin
and very blonde hair, those features and colors only need a light
makeup to stand out and look feminine, whereas darker tones with
maybe more “masculine” South European features can handle much more
makeup. That is my opinion as a former semi-makeup artist
:)
