Monday Beauty Tip #28: Cut Tube Open Before Throwing Away

by Hanne on June 25, 2012

This is a beauty tips that I learned from my mom many years ago. It can be both sad and expensive to run out of a product you love, so today’s tip is to cut open those tubes of creams, shampoos, conditioners and get out every last drop. You’ll be surprised to see how much product is still inside when you think it’s empty.

A lipstick brush or a small spoon will help you dig the very last product of that favorite tube. I usually cut a near-empty tube of product in half and then use a makeup brush to transfer what’s left into a small, clean, jar with a lid to buy myself few more days. It feels good to get every last drop of my favorite creams and lotions, especially when they were expensive to begin with.

What about you guys? Do you cut open empty tubes? :)

I always cut them to get the wonderful last drop. It does feel good to have a few more days nefore u really need to buy one. It is a coincidence to read this post right after have done it to my sunscreen. :-)

That’s so funny, I’ll do it with my sunscreen too very soon! :)

Jeg gjør alltid det selv! Haha. Trodde jeg var den eneste som gjorde det. Det ligger alltid et par dager ekstra i bunnen :-)

Jenn June 25, 2012 at 22:28

I do when it’s something I love and I know I will repurchase! On the contrary when it’s a product I’m happy to have emptied I don’t care if there’s a few more drops in ;-)

In this way, you will learn how to save money. This is one way to learn being frugal. It is hard to work, with no savings. Thanks.
