Monday Beauty Tip #24: Exam Beauty & Health Tips

Exams are a stressful time and I know I’m not the only one who’s in the middle of my exam preparations right now. During exam we study a lot and tend to forget to take care of ourselves. Here are some of my beauty & health tips to survive exams and keep you feeling fresh and, more importantly, sane!

Cold Spoon
If you’re struggling with tired and puffy eyes a cold spoon can be your rescue. Place a spoon in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes, when chilled hold the rounded part against the swollen area under your eye for a few minutes.

Facial Mist
A refreshing facial mist is a must-have for me during exam period. I gives me a cool “wake me up” feeling which I love, as well as it hydrates my skin. It tightens your pores and makes skin radiant. I love Caudalie and Embryolisse’s Eau de Beaute.

Hydrate From the Inside Out
Drink plenty of water – not only will will it hydrate you from the inside out but it will also sharpen your brain activity. Your body is about 70 percent water, and if your cells get dehydrated they will not be able to function efficiently.

Replace Coffee with Green Tea
When choosing to drink green tea instead of coffee, you’re hydrating your body, boosting your metabolism as well as it also helps reduce stress or anxiety while still giving you a caffeine pickup. It is also good for the brain, as it contains chemicals that enhance mental alertness and relaxation.

Beauty Sleep
About seven to eight hours of sleep a night is recommended. If possible, it is best to get to sleep around the same time each night and wake up around the same time each morning – your body will appreciate the regular cycle.

Exercise and Stretching
It will do wonders for your skin and overall appearance. A number of recent studies show that even multiple, short bouts of exercise (five to 15 minutes of walking several times throughout the day) have heart and health benefits. Stretching and improving your posture will make you breath better – which will help your brain get enough oxygen. When you adjust your study position to promote more efficient breathing—you are getting more each breath, less effort for more energy.

Makeup & Hair
Keep your hair and make up natural. During exam period we touch our face more often that usual and play with our hair as a way to maintain our concentration. I just use a bit of concealer, some blusher, a touch of mascara and some dry shampoo if I don’t have time to shower my hair in the morning.

    As I’m a student, I’ve got my exams week from tomorrow to friday ! Good luck Hanne :)
    I use all of your tips, it’s no make up week ! I put the Sérum réactivant cils by L’Oréal on my lashes, self tanning on my legs and face and I drink a lot of water and green tea !

    Hey Hanne, I’m in the middle of my exams too, so your tips are welcome! Like you, I drink a lot of water (especially since it’s 27 degrees in Paris!), do some exercises, sleep about 8hours…
    And I think I need to try the refreshing facial mist!!

    All great tips! As a student myself, I would add that it helps to eat good nutritious meals so you have fuel to get through those exams!
